Fortune Cookie Friday
The other night, I was enjoying a takeout dinner with my loving family. A new Chinese food restaurant opened up near us, and we had to partake. The end of the meal came and we divvied out the “traditional” fortune cookies. It was after we shared our baked good proverbs, I suggested we post on the internet. I have entered the realm of Fortune Cookie Friday.
I admit that I am not the first to come up with this phrase. There are blogs and videos on the idea, and everyone has their own take on it. I always had a problem with things like Throwback Thursday; Edna E Mode, from The Incredibles, says, “I never look back, dahling. It distracts from the now.” Fortune Cookie Friday, on the other hand, is right up my alley. I get to eat and write; it’s a win-win!
Now I find myself with nothing better to do than to post pics of paper, pulled from an individually wrapped, folded cookie. Isn’t that what social websites are for? Some are poignant, some are quirky, and some really only amuse when you add “in bed” at the end.
In my case, this would be my husband and my cat. They are dueling banjos of the bedroom, while I lie there waiting for sleep to pay me a visit. Honestly, I don’t know about my hubby, but I think my cat has sleep apnea.
So, I hope you enjoy my FCF.
