Progress Is Slow – The Ruby’s Cell Series
I’ve been working for the last couple of days on writing The Ruby’s Escape, Book 2 of the my young adult fantasy fiction series, The Ruby’s Cell, and I have only gotten to Chapter 5. I usually just sit down and write, but this time, my mind keeps revamping the plot path. I may have four versions before I decide what to go with in the end.
I have to give thanks to my awesome daughter, for being my in-house editor; she has been a great sounding board. I bounce ideas off my little book worm and she never fails to be honest in her opinions. Meredith, you rock!
I’m still waiting on some final editing of Book 1, and hope to have it completed soon, so I can send it off to a couple of agents. I am decent at being patient while I wait for others, but lately, I have been anxious beyond all reason. At least I have the second book, FCF, my e-commerce site, and illustrating to keep me preoccupied, even a little overwhelmed.
Since those books aren’t publishing anytime soon, readers can still enjoy some of my fiction by checking out Mrs. Otter’s posts. I started her posts like journal entries, but they have morphed into pseudo-chapters of an online book. Think of them more along the line of short stories. You can check them out here. Anyway, it gives me a change of point of view for my writing, and I enjoy imagining how an animal must view the world around them.
OK, I have to get back to work. Ta!
