The Big Wood – Spring Thaw and the Boys
My boys love to play in any kind of weather. Today it is cold and windy, and the stream is running hard. They have been playing on the boulders and all of them have fallen into the water at least once. Not that I am worried; they are all strong swimmers. It is just that Bobby, my youngest, likes to let the current take him further down the stream than I would like. I easily lose sight of him if he goes around the bend and he might meet up with a fox when he climbs out.
My other two sons, Benjamin and Bradley, are much more careful. Benjamin is my oldest and tries to look out for the other two, but he is still just a pup. Bradley is the creative one of the group. He comes up with most of the games that they play. Today’s boulder game has something to do with being a king and balancing on your front paws. Well, that’s what it looks like to me.
Mr. Otter has been taking a long nap since he came home with a large catfish. The meal was tasty and we are all very sated. He asked not to be disturbed, but that will be difficult since our den is not that large. If I cannot get any cleaning done, I might just cuddle up and nap with him. Oh, what am I saying! Someone has to keep an eye on the boys or they will bring home some unwelcome guests.
