The WNY Children’s Book Expo Is Here
While you may be recovering from Halloween and getting ready for Thanksgiving, I wanted to let you know about a fantastic event that is in full swing, the WNY Children’s Book Expo.
Buffalo’s premier literary event for children consists of KidsLit Week, and EXPO Saturday. During KidsLit Week, 40 internationally acclaimed authors visit area schools, libraries, museums and other cultural venues. The visits, scheduled Monday, 11/04/17 – Friday, 11/10/17, aim at inspiring a love of books in students grades pre-K through middle school.
This week offers opportunities to meet award-winning authors and illustrators like Sherri Duskey Rinker, Kathryn Otoshi, E. B. Lewis, and Matt Tavares. Many of the events are free and open to the public. You can find out the full schedule on the expo events page.
EXPO Saturday is a day-long dynamic showcase of new and beloved books written for kids. Free for all ages, the event allows local, national and international authors to interact directly with children through readings, book-signings, presentations, and demonstrations.
The EXPO on Saturday will be at the Buffalo Niagara Convention Center, from 10 am- 3 pm. Free parking is available at the Fernbach Parking Ramp.
Join me in exploring a week’s worth of Kids Lit fun for the whole family. You might even find the perfect gift for that young reader in your life, or even for yourself.
