Honeybee Math

This was my fourth illustration for the National Science Teacher’s Association’s journal, Science and Children. I created the illustration to accompany Betsy Franco‘s “Talented Bees” poem in the “The Poetry of Science” column.

She wrote the poem about the construction of honeycombs. Bees are very good at construction, and their combs are made of cells that are the perfect shape to form any structure.
